//SEED has been devised as my final MA project, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was part of the inaugural Form(at) Festival at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
//SEED is a one-to-one encounter across the video chat platform Zoom, where both the participant and I share the task of planting seeds.
The aim is that through the process of shared storytelling and reflection, the boundaries between performer and participant dissipate as we co-create a unique encounter.
Participants are sent a package which contains seeds, compost, and plant pots. After the live encounter in which they are planted, participants care for the seeds as they germinate and grow – an unspoken commitment to look after them, but also a connection to the live encounter in which they were planted. Find out more about this project on this website.
The show was reviewed by A Younger Theatre and Lou Reviews.
'What // SEED does exceptionally well is to blur the lines between a prepared performance and a natural exploration between two people.'
