If you come to see one of my company’s shows, you’ll likely be greeted by a cast member in character, who’ll explain who you are, why you’re here, and what we’d like you to contribute (if you choose to). You’ll also experience my production design, which helps create a world that we invite the audience to inhabit for an hour or so.

When creating shows for The Ministry of Unplanned Occurrences, we spend time researching and playing within the social, physical, and narrative environments of the piece. We explore thematic motifs, the kinds of characters that inhabit the world, and their relationships with one another. As artistic director, I lead this research and design exercises that provide the context for experimentation, collaboration, and playful exploration.
